The Regional Administrator, Southern Region, Federal Aviation Administration – Mr. Doug Murphy – recently presented the 2006 FAA Southern Region Runway Safety Partnership Award to the DeKalb Peachtree Airport. The award was presented to PDK in recognition of the outstanding work and contributions in promoting runway safety and significantly reducing runway incursions and surface incidents at the Airport. As a result of the Airport’s teamwork, vigilance and commitment to safety, outstanding improvements were achieved resulting in reducing the number of incidents to 2 for the period November, 2005 to October, 2006 from 9 incidents the previous year.
