Tuskegee Airmen Land at DeKalb Peachtree Airport
Members of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first black military airmen in World War II, landed at DeKalb Peachtree Airport on Thursday, March 25, on the ramp immediately in front of the Downwind Restaurant. The pilots arrived in a P-51 Mustang, the type used by the Tuskegee Airmen in World War II, after a flyover at the DeKalb Campus of Georgia Perimeter College.
